One of our work areas that helps to improve product quality and machine uptime is our dedicated tooling department.

We’ve invested heavily in equipment over the years to ensure that we always have a wide range of tools available. This helps us to avoid machine downtime and prevent issues related to rushing the tool setting process.

One of the benefits we’ve gained from having a separate tool setting department is increased shopfloor flexibility. The dedicated resource in tooling means that our operators can reduce machine changeover times and therefore more easily accommodate short production runs and reduce volume setting times.

Apart from investing in tools we have also invested in zero run out holders and a tool pre setter. The zero run out holders allow us to ensure that the tools are running true, in turn improving product quality. The tool pre setter reduces human error and, again, reduces product changeover times.
